Dash and the Melodious Blackbird in the Misty Forest

Dash and the Melodious Blackbird in the Misty Forest

✨ Story Summary

The children travel by magic train to a misty forest, where they trust a friendly blackbird named Melody who guides them to see squirrels, a musical bridge, and a magical firefly clearing.

That morning Lori was playing in the garden with Ale, Viola, and Eletta. The sky was gray and there was a cold breeze that made the tree leaves move. The four friends had built a long track with little sticks for the ants to walk on.

"Look at that ant! It's carrying an enormous crumb!" said Viola, pointing with her finger.

"It's as strong as me!" laughed Lori, who loved to run and jump fast like a rocket.

Eletta watched quietly, sitting on the grass, while Ale hopped here and there, always lively and smiling.

Suddenly they heard a familiar sound: "CHOO CHOO!"

"The little train!" they all shouted together.

From the curve of the garden appeared Toby the Magic Train, with his colorful carriages that sparkled even under the gray sky.

"Hello children with happy hearts, I'm taking you to a place with many sad parts!" said Toby the Magic Train with his singing voice.

The four friends looked at each other curiously. Sad parts? What did that mean?

"Let's get on!" said Lori first, and everyone ran to climb onto the soft and comfortable carriages.

"CHOO CHOO!" went Toby the Magic Train, and he sped off through the clouds.

They flew through the gray sky, then through white clouds as fluffy as whipped cream. When they came down, the children found themselves in a magical place.

It was an enormous forest! The trees were so tall you couldn't see the tops. There was a light mist that made everything mysterious and beautiful. The paths disappeared among the trees and the fog.

"Wow!" said Ale, with his eyes wide open.

"It's beautiful!" whispered Eletta.

"I want to explore!" said Lori, already ready to run.

"Wait!" Viola stopped him. "We don't know where to go!"

They were right. The forest was so big, with paths going in all directions. Which one should they choose?

"Where do we go?" asked Ale, a little worried.

Lori looked around. There were so many different paths. One went left among the dark trees, one went right where there was a bit of light, one went straight where the fog was thicker.

"I don't know..." said Lori, and for the first time he seemed unsure.

Suddenly, from a branch above them, came a whistle. It was a cheerful and sweet melody.

"Tweet-tweet-tooo-tweet!"

The children looked up. There was a bird as black as night, with a bright yellow beak. It was a blackbird!

"Hello!" said the little bird with a clear voice. "My name is Melody! I saw you arrive with that splendid little train!"

"Hello!" the children answered.

Melody the blackbird whistled his melody again. "Tweet-tweet-tooo! You look a bit puzzled!"

"Puzzled?" asked Viola, tilting her head.

"Puzzled means confused, when you don't quite know what to do," Melody explained gently. "Like when you don't know which path to take!"

"Ah! Yes, we're puzzled!" laughed Ale.

"Exactly! We don't know where to go," said Lori. "There are too many paths!"

Melody hopped on the branch, making a few dewdrops fall. "I know this forest very well! I can take you to see the most beautiful things! There's the Great Hollow Tree where the squirrels live, there's the Wooden Bridge over the stream that makes music, and there's the Firefly Clearing!"

Lori looked at his friends. The little bird seemed kind, but... they didn't know him. Could they trust him?

"How do we know it's true?" Lori asked the others quietly.

"He looks friendly," said Eletta with her calm little voice.

"But if we don't know him..." added Viola, a little suspicious.

Melody looked at them with his bright little black eyes. "I understand that you're scared. I'm a stranger to you. But you know, I love this forest and I love helping friends discover it!"

He whistled again: "Tweet-tooo-tweet!"

"What a beautiful melody!" said Ale, clapping his hands.

"I learned it from my grandmother," said Melody proudly. "She always whistled when she was happy."

Lori thought hard. The little bird really seemed kind. And besides, how could they explore that enormous forest by themselves?

"Alright," said Lori finally. "We trust you!"

Melody jumped for joy on the branch. "Hooray! You won't regret it! Follow me! Tweet-tweet!"

The little bird flew from tree to tree, always whistling his cheerful melody. The children followed him along a path covered with soft leaves.

The fog grew thicker. The trees looked huge in the mist.

"Lori, are you sure?" whispered Viola.

Lori looked ahead. Melody was singing happily. "Yes," said Lori, even though his heart was beating fast. "Let's keep going!"

They walked and walked. The fog was so thick they could barely see their feet.

"Where are we?" asked Eletta, a little worried.

"I can't see anything anymore!" said Ale.

Then, suddenly, the fog parted like a curtain. And before them appeared a wonderful sight!

It was a huge hollow tree, so big that a little house could fit inside! And around the tree, dozens of red squirrels were jumping and playing!

"Wow!" all the children shouted together.

"Let me introduce you to my squirrel friends!" said Melody proudly. "Tweet-tooo!"

The squirrels came closer curiously. A small one brought Lori a hazelnut.

"Thank you!" said Lori, smiling.

"See? He was right!" said Ale happily.

Melody whistled happily. "And now I'll take you to the Singing Bridge! Follow me!"

They all set off together again. Now the children weren't afraid anymore. Melody really did know the forest!

The path went down and down. They could hear the sound of water.

"Here it is!" announced Melody.

There was a wooden bridge over a stream. The water flowed fast over the stones and made a beautiful sound: "Splash, plink, splash, plink!"

"It's music!" said Viola, clapping her hands in rhythm.

"Exactly!" said Melody. "And I whistle along with the water! Tweet-splash-tooo-plink!"

Everyone laughed. Melody whistled and the stream water answered with its sounds.

"Can we cross?" asked Lori.

"Of course! On the other side is the most beautiful surprise!" said the little bird.

They crossed the bridge one at a time, listening to the music of the water. It was magical!

On the other side, the path went up again. The fog had almost disappeared and the sun was starting to come out from the clouds.

"Close your eyes!" said Melody. "Tweet-tweet! Don't open them until I tell you!"

The children closed their eyes. Lori held Ale's hand, and Ale held Viola's, and Viola held Eletta's. They walked slowly, trusting the little bird.

"Just a few more steps... more... NOW! Open them!"

The children opened their eyes and were left breathless.

They were in a beautiful clearing full of colorful flowers. And as they watched, the sun set behind the trees and... hundreds of fireflies lit up all together!

It was like being among the stars!

"Oh!" said Eletta, with her eyes wide open.

"It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!" whispered Viola.

The fireflies flew around them, making a magical golden light.

"This is the Firefly Clearing," said Melody with a sweet voice. "It's my favorite place in the whole forest. And I wanted to share it with my new friends!"

Lori felt his heart full of joy. He had been a little scared before, but he had decided to trust Melody. And now he had discovered wonderful places and made a new friend!

"Thank you Melody!" said Lori. "You were right about everything!"

"Thank you for trusting me!" answered the little bird. "At first you didn't know me, but you decided to give me a chance. That's how friendships are made!"

Ale, Viola, and Eletta ran to hug Lori. "You did well to trust!" said Ale.

They played in the clearing with the fireflies until it got dark. Then Melody led them back along the path, whistling his melody.

"CHOO CHOO!" Toby the Magic Train was waiting for them at the spot where they had arrived.

"I must say goodbye, my friends," said Melody. "But remember: don't be afraid to meet new people! The most beautiful friendships are born when we trust!"

"We'll come back to visit you!" promised Lori.

"Tweet-tweet-tooo!" whistled Melody happily.

The children got on the little train. Toby the Magic Train said: "New friends and trust in your heart, that's the magic of love's true art!"

And he took them home, while the sky became starry.

When they arrived in the garden, Lori said to his friends: "At first I was scared to trust Melody because I didn't know him. But then I understood that if we don't trust, we can't make new friendships!"

"That's true!" said Viola. "And we saw beautiful places!"

"And the fireflies!" added Eletta, yawning.

That evening, before sleeping, Lori thought about Melody and his cheerful melody. He had learned that meeting new people shouldn't be scary. Instead, it can lead to beautiful adventures and special friendships!

And so, with a heart full of joy, Lori fell asleep dreaming of magical forests, singing bridges, and fireflies shining like stars.
