Ale was playing in the living room with his four cats. Outside the window, the sky looked gray and cloudy, and every now and then a few drops of rain fell on the glass. Sophie, the black kitten, rubbed against his legs purring. Dora, the tabby cat, had climbed onto the armchair and was looking outside with an attentive air. Poldo, the fat and massive cat, was sleeping on the carpet, while Milo, his more agile brother, was hopping from one chair to another.

"Look Ale!" said Violet, who was sitting next to him. "I made a super tall tower with the colored blocks!"

"It's beautiful!" replied Ale smiling. Ellie and Lori were lying on the carpet drawing with crayons on a big white sheet of paper.

Suddenly a distant sound was heard: "CHUFF CHUFF!"

All four children raised their heads. Ale's cats pricked up their ears.

"It's Toby!" shouted Lori jumping to his feet.

The living room door opened by itself, and on the threshold appeared Toby the Magic Train, all shiny and colorful, with white smoke coming out of his chimney.

"Good morning friends, how nice to see you! Today I'm taking you to a special place, where the snow never stops falling!" said Toby the Magic Train with his cheerful voice.

"Let's go!" shouted Ale enthusiastically. He climbed onto the little train together with his four cats. Violet, Ellie and Lori followed him, laughing and pushing to choose the best seats.

Toby the Magic Train set off fast, passing through the rain that was getting stronger and stronger. Then, as if by magic, the rain turned into snow! White and light snowflakes began to fall from the sky, thicker and thicker.

"Look!" shouted Ellie, pointing out the window. "Everything is white!"

The little train slowed down and stopped in front of a wonderful village covered in snow. There were wooden houses with lit windows, reindeer walking peacefully, and sleds leaning against the doors. It was Santa's Village!

"Go ahead and get off, and you'll see something strange, look for someone who can help you, it will be quite a daring challenge!" said Toby the Magic Train, and then he stayed still waiting.

The children got off, sinking into the soft snow. Ale's four cats jumped down and started exploring, sniffing everything with curiosity. Sophie meowed loudly, as if to say: "How cold!"

"How beautiful here!" said Violet looking around with her blue eyes full of wonder.

But then Ale noticed something strange. "Guys... look at the sky!"

Everyone looked up. The sky was completely gray, without colors. And not just the sky: even the houses, the sleds, the lights... everything was in black and white, like an old movie!

"Where did all the colors go?" asked Lori worried.

"I don't know," replied Ellie quietly. "Everything is gray."

An elf with a pointed hat came out of a little house and saw them. He had a very sad look.

"Oh, children," said the elf with a heartbroken voice. "Something terrible has happened! The colors of the rainbow have disappeared! The whole village has turned gray, and nobody knows how to bring them back."

"Heartbroken?" asked Violet tilting her head. "What does heartbroken mean?"

The elf smiled a little. "It means very very sad, like when you lose your favorite toy and can't find it anymore."

"Got it," said Ale nodding. "We need to help the village! But how do we do it?"

"You need to find someone who knows what to do," replied the elf. "Maybe the Tooth Fairy can help you. She has taken refuge in the tallest tower in the village, that one over there." The elf pointed to a white tower in the distance.

The four children set off through the snow, followed by Ale's cats. Poldo walked slowly, sinking into the snow with his weight, while Milo hopped along nimbly. Dora ran ahead as if she were exploring, and Sophie stayed close to Ale.

As they walked, the sky was getting darker and darker. Night was coming, and soon the first stars appeared, shining like diamonds in the black sky.

"How beautiful the stars are!" said Ellie looking up.

"Yes, but it's cold," said Lori shivering a little.

Finally they arrived at the tower. The door was closed. Ale knocked loudly: "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!"

After a moment, the door opened and a tiny little fairy appeared, with transparent and shiny wings. She had a little bag hanging from her shoulder.

"Who are you?" asked the fairy with a thin little voice.

"We're Ale, Violet, Ellie and Lori," said Ale. "And these are my cats: Sophie, Dora, Poldo and Milo. We need your help! The colors of the rainbow have disappeared!"

The Tooth Fairy sighed. "I know, I know. It's my fault." The little fairy seemed very sorry.

"Your fault?" asked Violet with her strong character. "Why?"

"Last night I was flying around the village collecting children's baby teeth," explained the Tooth Fairy. "I saw the rainbow shining in the sky, even at night. It was beautiful! But I... I touched it without asking permission. I touched it with my magic wand because I wanted to see if it sparkled like the little teeth. And suddenly... POOF! All the colors flew away!"

"Oh no!" said Ellie with wide eyes.

"I didn't mean to!" said the little fairy, and a small tear ran down her cheek. "Now everyone in the village is angry with me. They say I was bad and that I don't deserve respect."

Ale approached the little fairy. Even though he was small, he understood that she was really sorry.

"You're not bad," said Ale with a gentle voice. "You made a mistake, but you didn't mean any harm. We all make mistakes."

"It's true," added Violet. "I also sometimes do things without thinking."

"And me too," said Lori.

The Tooth Fairy smiled a little. "Thank you, children. You are very kind to me."

"But how can we bring the colors back?" asked Ellie.

The little fairy thought for a moment. "The rainbow... the rainbow lives in the frozen lake beyond the forest. If we go there and apologize to him, maybe he will forgive us and the colors will return."

"Let's go!" said Ale with determination.

The group set off. Night had fallen completely, and the stars were shining very brightly above them, lighting the way. They walked through the forest of snow-covered trees. It was very cold, and they could hear the wind blowing through the branches: "WHOOOOSH WHOOOOSH!"

Dora, the fearless cat, walked ahead of everyone, as if she were protecting the group. Milo jumped from one tree to another, checking that there were no dangers.

Suddenly, a loud noise was heard: "CRACK!"

"What was that?" asked Lori frightened.

A branch full of snow was about to fall right on top of them!

"Watch out!" shouted Violet.

Milo, the agile cat, jumped up high and hit the branch with his paw, making it fall somewhere else. Everyone got to safety.

"Thank you Milo!" said Ale hugging his cat.

They continued walking and finally came out of the forest. In front of them was a large frozen lake, sparkling under the starlight.

"It's beautiful," whispered Ellie.

In the center of the lake, there was a strange gray shape. It looked like an arch made of mist.

"It's the rainbow!" said the Tooth Fairy. "But it has lost all its colors."

They approached carefully, walking on the ice. It was cold and slippery. Poldo, the chubby cat, slipped and ended up on his belly, sliding like a sled. Everyone laughed a little, even though they were worried.

When they got close to the rainbow, it spoke with a sad, deep voice: "Who dares to disturb me?"

"It's me," said the Tooth Fairy with a trembling voice. "I came to apologize. I didn't mean to touch you without permission. I didn't mean to make you lose your colors. I'm so sorry."

The rainbow remained silent for a long moment. The children held their breath.

"We also want to apologize on behalf of the little fairy," said Ale. "She made a mistake, but we all make mistakes. She's a good fairy who collects baby teeth and brings surprises to children. She deserves respect, as we all do."

"We all deserve respect and kindness," added Violet with her strong character.

The rainbow moved a little. "No one had ever apologized to me before," it said with a gentler voice. "And no one had ever told me that I deserve respect. You children are wise."

Then, suddenly, colored lights started rising from the ice! First red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet! All the colors of the rainbow!

"They're coming back!" shouted Lori clapping his hands.

The colors flew up high into the sky, drawing a magnificent rainbow that sparkled under the stars. It was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen!

And then, as if by magic, all the colors returned to the village! The little houses became red and blue, the lights yellow and white, the sleds brown, and everything became wonderful again!

"Thank you, children," said the rainbow. "And thank you, Tooth Fairy. You taught me that even mistakes can become something beautiful, if you apologize."

"Thank you," replied the little fairy smiling.

They all returned to the village together. The elves came out of the little houses and applauded happily! They also hugged the Tooth Fairy, because they had understood that she too deserved respect and kindness.

"It's time to go home," said Ale to his friends.

They climbed onto Toby the Magic Train, together with the four cats who curled up on the seats tired but happy.

"You learned something important today, respecting everyone is always fundamental, every creature has value, big or small, deserves love from beginning to end!" said Toby the Magic Train, and set off fast toward home.

During the journey, Ellie fell asleep right away, resting her head on Ale's shoulder. She was tired after all that adventure.

When they got home, they found all the parents waiting for them. Grace ran to hug Ale, and Max smiled calmly as always. Andrew, Ellie's dad, picked her up while she was sleeping, and Lisa said: "What a good girl my little one!" Daddy Luke hugged Violet with his glasses sparkling, while Marty checked that she was okay. Christina hugged Lori, and Fred said: "Thank goodness you came back safe and sound!"

That evening, before falling asleep, Ale thought about everything that had happened. He had learned that everyone, absolutely everyone, deserves respect and kindness. Even when someone makes a mistake, it's important to be kind and help them do better.

And this is the moral of the story: every creature, big or small, whether it's a fairy, a rainbow, a cat or a child, deserves respect and kindness. When someone makes a mistake, it's better to help them with love rather than being mean. Because everyone, absolutely everyone, deserves to be treated well.
