Ziggy and the Lost Yeti on the Christmas Glacier

Ziggy and the Lost Yeti on the Christmas Glacier

✨ Story Summary

The children travel to Christmas Glacier where they help reunite a lost baby yeti with his mother while navigating breaking ice and discovering courage through teamwork.

Ziggy was jumping up and down in the garden. His four cats watched him bounce. Luna the black cat purred. Tiggy the striped cat swished her tail. Chunk, the fat tabby, yawned. Rocket, his tall brother, stretched high.

"Look how high I can jump!" said Ziggy.

Lily, Dash, and Skye were there too. They were making snowballs from cotton balls.

"Mine is biggest!" said Lily, holding up a fluffy white ball.

"Mine is fastest!" said Dash, throwing his cotton ball. WHOOSH!

Skye smiled quietly and made her snowball round and perfect.

CHUFF CHUFF! DING DING!

The magic train appeared! It was covered in sparkly white frost today.

"Hello friends, both big and small! Today we'll go where snowflakes fall!" said Toby the Magic Train.

"Yay! The train!" shouted Ziggy. He jumped even higher. His cats meowed happily.

All four children climbed aboard. The cats jumped in too. The train felt warm inside, like hot chocolate.

CHUFF CHUFF! The train went faster and faster. Outside the windows, everything turned white. Snow was everywhere! But this wasn't normal snow. It sparkled pink and blue and purple.

"Where white meets sky so very high, we'll find a friend who's lost and shy," said Toby the Magic Train.

The train stopped on a huge glacier. It was Christmas Glacier, the most magical ice mountain in the world! Candy canes grew from the ice like flowers. The air smelled like gingerbread.

"Wow!" said Ziggy. He jumped out first. CRUNCH went his feet on the sparkly snow.

Luna, Tiggy, Chunk, and Rocket followed him carefully. Cats don't usually like snow, but this snow felt warm!

"Listen!" said Lily. She put her hand to her ear.

They heard crying. It sounded like: "Hooo hooo hooo!"

"Someone is sad," said Skye softly.

"Let's find them!" said Dash. He ran forward. ZOOM!

"Wait!" called Ziggy. "We stay together!"

They walked across the glacier. The candy canes jingled like bells when wind touched them. TING TING TING!

Behind a big ice rock, they found something amazing. It was a yeti! But not a scary yeti. This was a baby yeti, only a little bigger than them. He had soft white fur, three gentle blue eyes, and six fuzzy arms. Each arm ended in mittens made of clouds.

"I'm lost!" cried the baby yeti. "My name is Snowball. I can't find my mama!"

"Don't cry," said Lily strongly. "We'll help you!"

Snowball sniffled. His three eyes blinked tears that turned into tiny snowflakes.

"How did you get lost?" asked Ziggy.

"I was playing with the Christmas stars," said Snowball. "I followed one too far. Now everything looks the same!"

Ziggy's cats circled around Snowball. Luna rubbed against him gently. This made Snowball smile a little.

"We need to find your mama," said Dash. "But how?"

Suddenly, the glacier started to RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!

"Oh no!" cried Snowball. "The glacier is breaking! This happens when the Christmas magic gets worried!"

A crack appeared in the ice. CRACK! It was getting bigger!

"Everyone hold hands!" shouted Ziggy.

But they had a problem. The crack was between them and the train! They couldn't go back!

Skye pointed up. "Look! A bridge!"

High above was an ice bridge. But it was very high and looked slippery.

"I'm scared," whispered Snowball. All six of his arms shook.

"We can do it together," said Lily. "I'll go first!"

But when Lily stepped forward, they heard a loud ROAR!

A huge shadow appeared. The children gasped. Even the cats hissed.

Then they saw what it was. A mama yeti! She was big and white with the same three blue eyes as Snowball. But she had eight arms instead of six!

"SNOWBALL!" she cried. "My baby!"

"Mama!" Snowball ran forward, but the crack was in the way!

The crack was getting wider. CRACK CRACK!

"We need to help them!" said Ziggy.

He had an idea. "Rocket! You can jump far!"

Rocket the cat understood. He ran fast and jumped across the crack. WHOOSH! He made it!

"Now tie this!" Ziggy pulled out a long ribbon from his pocket. His mama Grace had put it there for playing.

Rocket took one end in his mouth. The mama yeti understood and grabbed it with two of her eight arms.

"Everyone pull!" shouted Dash.

They all pulled the ribbon. Even little Skye pulled hard. The cats helped too. Chunk used his heavy body to anchor them.

"One, two, three, PULL!" counted Lily.

Slowly, slowly, the mama yeti came across the crack. Just in time! The ice where she had been standing fell away. SPLASH! It disappeared into clouds below.

"Mama!" Snowball hugged his mama with all six arms.

She hugged him back with all eight of hers. That's fourteen arms hugging!

"Thank you, little heroes," said Mama Yeti. Her voice was soft like snow falling. "You saved us both."

"But we're still stuck," said Skye quietly. The crack was all around them now.

Mama Yeti smiled. "No, you're not. Watch this!"

She breathed out softly. Her breath was magical! It turned into a silver cloud that became solid. A cloud bridge!

"Walk on my breath bridge," she said. "It will take you to your train."

The children walked on the cloud. It felt bouncy and safe. The cats loved it! Tiggy did a little flip.

They reached Toby the Magic Train safely.

"You found what was lost in the snow. Now back home it's time to go!" said Toby.

"Wait!" called Snowball. He ran to them with something in his mittened hands. "For you!"

He gave each child a special gift. A tiny ice star that would never melt. It glowed with soft light.

"When you feel scared, hold this tight. It will give you courage," said Mama Yeti.

"Thank you!" said all four children.

Snowball waved all six arms. "Bye bye, friends! Bye bye, cats!"

CHUFF CHUFF! The train started moving.

As they rode home, Ziggy held his ice star. It felt warm in his hand.

"We were brave," said Lily.

"We worked together," added Dash.

"We helped someone," whispered Skye.

The train went through the sparkly snow, past the candy canes, away from Christmas Glacier. Soon they saw their garden again.

"Adventures end but friends stay true. Being brave is what you do!" said Toby the Magic Train.

They climbed out. The cats jumped down too, happy to be on regular ground.

"Ziggy!" called Grace, his mama. "Time for dinner!"

"Mama, we saved a yeti!" said Ziggy, jumping up and down.

Grace smiled and hugged him tight. "What an imagination you have!"

But in his pocket, the ice star still glowed. Luna the cat saw it and purred. She knew it was real.

That night, all four children put their ice stars under their pillows. They dreamed of Snowball and his mama, safe and happy on Christmas Glacier.

The moral of the story: When someone is lost or scared, we can help them by working together. Even when things seem dangerous or impossible, friendship and teamwork make us stronger. Being brave doesn't mean not being scared - it means helping others even when we feel scared ourselves. And sometimes, the people we help give us special gifts we never expected, like courage that stays with us forever.
