Lily was playing in the garden with her friends. Ziggy was jumping up and down. Skye was sitting quietly on the grass. Dash was running around a big tree.

"Look at my tower!" said Lily. She had made a tall tower with sticks and leaves.

WHOOSH! A strong wind knocked it down.

"Oh no!" said Lily. Her eyes got a bit watery.

"It's okay," said Skye in her soft voice.

Just then, they heard a familiar sound. CHUFF CHUFF!

The magic train came rolling into the garden. It was red and shiny with golden wheels.

"Hello children, nice to see you today! We'll go where water likes to play. Where darkness hides and droplets fall, an adventure waits for one and all!" said Toby the Magic Train.

"Yay! Let's go!" shouted Dash.

All four friends climbed aboard. The train went CHUFF CHUFF and started moving. The garden disappeared. Everything became misty and cool.

The train stopped inside a big cave. Water was dripping from the ceiling. DRIP DROP, DRIP DROP.

"This cave is wet!" said Ziggy, touching the damp walls.

"And dark," whispered Skye, moving closer to Lily.

They walked deeper into the cave. Their footsteps went SPLASH SPLASH in the puddles. The cave had blue rocks that glowed a little bit, giving them just enough light to see.

Suddenly, they heard a sound. "ROARRR... sniff sniff."

"What was that?" asked Dash, hiding behind Lily.

Lily stood tall. "Let's go see. Maybe someone needs help."

They walked around a big rock. There sat a brown bear. But this wasn't a scary bear. He was crying! Big tears rolled down his furry face.

"Why are you sad, Mister Bear?" asked Lily bravely.

The bear looked up. "My name is Bruno. I lost my special honey pot in this cave. It was a gift from my mama. Now I can't find it because everything is so wet and slippery!"

"We can help!" said Lily. "Right, friends?"

"Yes!" said Ziggy, Skye, and Dash together.

Bruno smiled a little. "Really? But the cave is very deep. And there's a tricky part ahead."

"We're not scared," said Lily, though her heart was beating fast.

They all walked together. Bruno was very big, and his steps went THUMP THUMP. The children's steps went pitter-patter.

Soon they came to a place where the path split into three tunnels.

"Oh no," said Bruno. "I don't remember which way I came from."

One tunnel had yellow glowing mushrooms. One tunnel had the sound of running water. One tunnel was very quiet and dark.

"Let me think," said Lily. She looked at each tunnel carefully.

"Bruno, does your honey pot make any sound?" asked Skye.

"No," said Bruno.

"Is it yellow like honey?" asked Dash.

"Yes! It's golden yellow!" said Bruno, his eyes lighting up.

"Then maybe it's in the tunnel with yellow mushrooms!" said Ziggy.

But when they looked closer, the mushroom tunnel floor was covered in thick, sticky mud.

"Uh oh," said Dash. "That mud looks really sticky."

"Wait!" said Lily. "I have an idea. Bruno, you're big and strong. Can you carry us?"

Bruno nodded. "Climb on my back!"

All four children climbed onto Bruno's soft, warm back. He walked through the sticky mud. SQUISH SQUASH went his big paws. The children held on tight.

The tunnel got narrower. The ceiling got lower. Bruno had to duck down.

"I'm scared," whispered Skye.

"Hold my hand," said Lily. She reached over and squeezed Skye's little hand.

Then something strange happened. The yellow mushrooms started moving! They weren't mushrooms at all. They were sleeping bats!

"EEEK! EEEK!" The bats woke up and flew everywhere.

"Don't worry!" said Bruno. "They won't hurt us. Just stay still."

The children ducked down into Bruno's soft fur. The bats flew around them, their wings going FLAP FLAP FLAP. It was scary but also a bit exciting.

After the bats left, they kept walking. The tunnel opened into a big chamber. Water was falling from the ceiling like rain. And there, on a high ledge, was something golden and shiny!

"My honey pot!" cried Bruno.

But the ledge was too high. Even Bruno couldn't reach it.

"Now what?" asked Dash.

Lily looked around. She saw long vines hanging from the ceiling. She saw rocks they could stack. She saw a wooden plank floating in a puddle.

"We need to work together," said Lily. "Ziggy, you're good at jumping. Can you grab those vines?"

Ziggy nodded and jumped high. He caught a vine and pulled it down.

"Dash, you're fast. Can you collect those rocks?"

Dash ran around quickly, gathering rocks into a pile.

"Skye, can you help me with this plank?"

Skye and Lily carried the wooden plank together.

"Now, Bruno, can you stand here and be very still?"

They stacked the rocks. They put the plank on top like a ramp. Bruno stood at the end, holding the vine.

"I'll climb up," said Lily. "You all hold the plank steady."

Lily's heart was beating very fast. The plank wobbled a bit. But her friends held it tight.

She climbed up the plank, then grabbed the vine. Bruno held it steady with his strong paws. She swung across to the ledge.

"Be careful, Lily!" shouted Skye.

Lily reached the ledge. There was the beautiful golden honey pot! But when she picked it up, the ledge started to crack!

CRACK! Little pieces of rock fell down.

"Jump, Lily!" shouted Bruno. "I'll catch you!"

Lily was scared. The ground looked far away. But she trusted her friends. She held the honey pot tight and jumped.

Bruno caught her gently in his big, soft paws. "Got you!"

"Yay, Lily!" cheered Ziggy, Dash, and Skye.

Bruno was so happy. He hugged the honey pot. "Thank you, little friends! You're so brave!"

"We did it together," said Lily, smiling.

They started walking back. But the way they came was now flooded with water!

"The rain outside must have made the water rise," said Bruno, worried.

The water was getting higher. It touched their feet. SPLASH SPLASH.

"What do we do?" asked Skye, her voice shaking.

Then they heard it. CHUFF CHUFF!

Toby the Magic Train appeared, floating on the water like a boat!

"Climb aboard, don't be late! The water's rising, don't you wait!" said Toby.

Everyone quickly climbed on. Bruno squeezed into the biggest car, still holding his honey pot.

The train floated through the flooded tunnel. Water splashed against the sides. WHOOSH SPLASH!

Soon they were out of the cave and back in the sunny garden. Bruno climbed off the train.

"Thank you, brave children," he said. "You taught me something important. When things seem impossible, friends make everything possible!"

He gave each child a little taste of honey from his special pot. It was the sweetest honey they'd ever tasted!

"Goodbye, Bruno!" waved the children.

Bruno waved back and walked into the forest, happy again.

"Through the cave so dark and deep, you helped a friend his treasure keep! Now you know what's really true, together there's nothing you can't do!" said Toby the Magic Train.

CHUFF CHUFF! The train disappeared in a puff of sparkly smoke.

"That was scary but fun!" said Dash.

"Lily, you were so brave!" said Skye, giving her a hug.

"We all were brave," said Lily. "When we work together, we can do anything!"

Just then, Lily's mom Kate and dad Mike came outside.

"What have you been playing?" asked Mike, adjusting his glasses.

"We helped a bear!" said Lily excitedly.

Mike smiled and picked Lily up. "That sounds like a wonderful adventure!"

The friends sat in the garden, still tasting the sweet honey on their lips. They knew that being brave doesn't mean not being scared. It means helping others even when you are scared. And the best way to be brave is to do it together with friends.
